Our books are both used and new; many are collectible.
Unlike the main-stream book resellers, we do not maintain an exact inventory plan or a system to replace books on a particular subject or title. .An old fashioned concept, but that is our model and one to which we are dedicated.Our goal is not to be the most precise purveyor of books; we hope to be the most enjoyable book seller that you visit...ever.
All that being said...we do specialize in books of certain subjects. Our deepest collections include some of the more obvious selections: North Carolina subjects, Western NC subjects, Southern States histories and nature and writings on nature. In addition to these we feature a huge selection of books on gardens and gardening and a very broad collection of books on crafts and crafting. We have dedicated a single room to Americana histories, completed with a large wood burring fireplace and a great selection of books on US Military and the American Civil War...or the Late Unpleasantness Between the States. One could easily spend a day [and many have] in this room, alone.
We accept all major forms of payment: cash, credit cards and checks. We will search our inventory for you for a book, yet we would like to discuss the selections we have by phone so that we can properly understand your need as well give you a complete description of the book and its condition.
We purchase books, obviously, yet we would like to review with you by e-mail or telephone any books you wish to sell. We pay cash or store credit [which we prefer], yet we do caution that we are as particular in what we buy as you are in your purchases of our or other books. Books on NC, Western NC and Southern States are the most desirable.
